Yesterday I had the privilege to escort a dear friend, Connie H., through the temple for the first time. She's a dear sister in my ward that I've known for a while and that I'll always remember for the wonderful gospel doctrine lessons she taught in Sunday School.
Seeing her go through the temple for the first time reminded me of my "first time" temple experience. I was getting ready to serve in the Florida Ft. Lauderdale Spanish Mission. I told Connie how I felt so pure, after I went through, kind of like the feeling one has right after baptism. I knew the Lord was there in the temple and how important the ordinances that are performed there truly are. I love the temple.

I love the temple too! That is so wonderful that you got to go through for the first time with a special friend! I love the picture of you in 1977! Brings back good memories!
ReplyDeleteAngie looks alot like you. What a neat experience! I do love the temple. I always have a special feeling after doing the Lord's work.
ReplyDeleteI love the past and the present combo in your post. I need a scanner.
ReplyDeleteHey Beth!!! Thanks for commenting on my blog. We are excited for Fort Bragg but the thing is, as soon as we get there in May or June, Adam will probably deploy soon thereafter. So I will actually be heading back to good old Mojave in Cali to live with mom and dad while he is gone that year. It's just smart financially now. but as soon as he gets back we will be looking for a place there next year! Good to know that family is there!
ReplyDeleteHey,
ReplyDeleteNice photos from the past and present. I like it. Looks like fun. I also agree, the Temple is a special place. Annette and I have a monthly calling to serve food in the cafeteria here in Idaho Falls Temple every 2nd saturday of every month for 2009. It's fun working together.
